SUMNER REGIONAL MEDICAL CENTER ER NURSE WINS NURSE OF THE YEAR AWARD
SRMC's Joey Kerrigan, RN, Named March of Dimes ER Nurse of the Year

Sumner Regional Medical Center is pleased to announce Joey Kerrigan, RN, Emergency Department nurse, was named Emergency Room Nurse of the Year in the March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Awards that took place in Nashville on Tuesday, December 9.

 

“Joey is an excellent nurse, showing great skill, leadership and compassion when caring for patients in the ER at Sumner Regional,” said Susan Peach, RN, BSN, MBA, Chief Executive Officer of Sumner Regional Medical Center and HighPoint Health System.  “She is respected by our medical staff and nursing colleagues, and loved by her patients.  We are so proud of Joey and congratulate her on receiving this prestigious award, and are thankful to have her caring for patients at Sumner Regional.”

Kerrigan, a native of Gallatin, TN. has been a nurse on staff at Sumner Regional Medical Center since 2010. She earned a bachelors’ of degree in nursing from University of St. Francis, an associate’s degree in nursing from Tennessee State University and is a graduate of Gallatin High School in Gallatin, Tenn. She and her family currently reside in Gallatin.

 

The March of Dimes Nurse of the Year Awards recognizes Middle Tennessee nurses who demonstrate excellence in various aspects of the nursing profession. This includes nurses who demonstrate their excellence through their administration of health care services, through their provision of clinical care, comfort, and support to patients in various healthcare settings, their education of future nursing professionals, and their advancement of nursing knowledge through research efforts or through entrepreneurial or consultation efforts that advance the discipline of nursing.
