HighPoint Health System Names New CEO for Livingston Regional Hospital
McGill returns to hospital to assume top leadership role

HighPoint Health System and Livingston Regional Hospital (LRH) announced today that Tim McGill has been named chief executive officer (CEO) for the hospital, effective Nov. 2.  McGill brings more than 30 years of healthcare experience to Livingston, most recently serving as CEO of River Park Hospital in McMinnville, Tennessee.

“Tim is a natural fit for this hospital,” said Susan Peach, market president of HighPoint Health System, a four-hospital system serving northern middle Tennessee that includes LRH, Sumner Regional Medical Center, Riverview Regional Medical Center and Trousdale Medical Center. “We are excited to have him join Livingston Regional and the HighPoint family and know he will be a strong leader as the hospital continues to work to meet the community’s growing healthcare needs.”

A familiar face in the community, McGill is a longtime resident of Livingston and served as the hospital’s CEO from 1993 to 2008.  During this time, McGill led LRH through six expansion projects, developed numerous service lines, recruited more than a dozen physicians and led the hospital’s emergency department to achieve Chest Pain Accreditation, among other successes.

“We are excited to bring Tim and his expertise back to our hospital,” said Larry Mason, MD, chair of Livingston Regional Hospital’s Board of Trustees. “His strong leadership skills, extensive experience in hospital administration and deep knowledge of our community’s healthcare needs will help us identify and explore opportunities to enhance patient care and better serve our community.”

McGill’s previous experience also includes serving as market CEO for Parkway Medical Center and Hartselle Medical Center in Decatur, Alabama; regional director for Chattanooga’s Tennessee First Health Plan; group director for Cleveland Community Hospital in Cleveland, Tennessee; executive director for Harris Hospital in Newport, Arkansas; CEO of Charter Community Hospital, also in Cleveland; and CEO of Enterprise Hospital and Nursing Home in Enterprise, Alabama.

“Livingston Regional Hospital is the healthcare leader in our community,” said McGill, “and I am genuinely excited to come back to the place I consider home.  I look forward to expanding on the great work that is happening by identifying new opportunities to enhance the care we provide patients and expanding the services we offer to make our community healthier.”

McGill earned a Bachelor of Science and a Master’s in Public Health from the University of Tennessee.  He is a member of numerous local boards, the McMinnville Rotary Club and is a Paul Harris Fellow with Rotary International.  Additionally, McGill is a past member and past president of the Livingston Rotary Club and former board chairman of the Livingston/Overton County Chamber of Commerce.
