Friends of Sumner Regional Medical Center, Inc. will host their annual New Year’s Eve Gala on Tuesday, December, 31st 2013, at the Epic Event Centre in Gallatin.

The theme for the evening is “The Birth of a New Year.”  All money raised at the event will go to helping improve the lives of babies born in Sumner County.

“The goal for 2014 by the Friends of Sumner Regional Medical Center, Inc. is to put babies and their families first by providing each infant born at Sumner Regional Medical Center with a Halo SleepSack,” said Sharon Green, Director of Volunteer Services at SRMC.

Pictured: Newborn Bryson Goolsby, born December 11 at Sumner Regional Medical Center, wears a Halo Sleepsack. Goolsby’s parents are Stacey and Jason Goolsby of Bethpage, Tenn., Proud  big brother is JT. Goolsby was delivered by Dr. Terri Holt, OB/GYN.

A Halo SleepSack is a blanket that a baby wears that swaddles them.  It replaces loose blankets in the crib, which can cover a baby’s face and interfere with breathing. The SleepSack promotes safer sleeping and decreases the incidence of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS).

The gala will include dinner, live music provided by Garage Band Revival, dancing, a midnight celebration toast, and a complimentary event photo to commemorate the evening. Tickets are available for purchase at the Simply Sumner Gift Shoppe, the SRMC Volunteer Office, or on the Epic Event Centre website.
