About Your Stay
At Highpoint Health - Sumner with Ascension Saint Thomas, we are dedicated to helping patients get past the hurdles and back to their lives- returning to work, family, active retirement, or independent living. The Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit includes state-of-the-art equipment, 17 private, spacious, and comfortable rooms, and an exceptionally experienced team of therapists, nurses and physicians. Because each person is unique, our dedicated team individualizes each patient's care, taking into consideration that each patient has different needs and progresses at a different pace. Highpoint Health In-Patient Rehab offers 24-hour rehabilitation nursing care under the direction of a medical director who specializes in physical medicine and rehabilitation.
What to Bring
You will be encouraged to do much on your own. For comfort, patients wear casual, everyday clothing. All clothing and personal items should be labeled appropriately. You will want to bring the following items with you:

- Comfortable jogging suits, slacks, shorts (elastic waist bands and easy closures are recommended), and comfortable shirts: enough clothing for five days.
- Seasonally appropriate outerwear
- Underclothing
- Pajamas, gowns, robes, nonskid house shoes
- Flat, nonskid walking or tennis shoes
- Personal items – toothbrush, comb, brush, and cosmetics as desired
- Assistive devices you may already have (braces, eyeglasses, hearing aid, dentures, etc.)
- Mementos from home to make your stay pleasant such as electronic devices, reading material, crossword puzzles, cell phone, photos, stationery
- Items that assist you in spiritual comfort
- Hobby items such as needlecrafts, etc.

What Not to Bring
For your comfort and safety, we ask that you not bring:

- Medications – these will be administered and supervised by your nurse
- Excessive or expensive jewelry or other valuables
- Credit cards, checkbooks or large amounts of cash
- Family keepsakes or other personal items that can’t be replaced
