Angela Pruett Named Chief Nursing Officer of Riverview Regional Medical Center and Trousdale Medical Center
May 2, 2023
Riverview Regional Medical Center (RRMC) and Trousdale Medical Center (TMC) are pleased to announce that Angela Pruett has accepted the position of Chief Nursing Officer for both facilities. Since Jennifer Holder joined the Sumner Regional team, Angela has been serving in an interim capacity and has proven to be a great fit for us. Both RRMC and TMC are pleased to officially embrace her as one of our own.
Angela began as a Cumberland University graduate nurse with Sumner Regional in 2007 on the telemetry floor and transitioned to a Nursing Director in 2011. For about eight years, she oversaw various nursing units, as well as inpatient therapy services and PICC services. She is a certified professional in patient safety, qualified to lead system-wide initiatives and critical improvements through this exciting phase of growth and challenging time in healthcare.
Angela was a Senior Nursing Director at Sumner Regional from 2019 to 2022, focusing on Women’s Services, Surgical Services, Med/Surg, Inpatient Rehab Services, and Wound Care. She became VP of Nursing Operations for a short time, before transitioning to our Interim CNO in November of last year.
As Chief Nursing Officer, Angela will be instrumental in making sure all staff, including clinical staff, are heard. She has a positive history of implementing front line recommendations from the Culture of Safety and Engagement Survey completed by staff annually. She has been successful at recruiting quality nurses and retaining local talent. She is eager to help employees develop leadership capabilities and grow within the organization.
“Both Riverview Regional and Trousdale Medical are proud of our dedication to a positive patient experience and providing high quality care for our communities.” says Carolyn Sparks, CEO of RRMC and TMC. “I see Angela’s commitment to continuing initiatives that benefit our patients, providers, community partners and staff.”
