December 10, 2024
The Carthage and Hartsville-based hospitals of Highpoint Health with Ascension Saint Thomas recently earned 2024 Performance Leadership Awards for excellence in both Patient Perspective and Quality from The Chartis Center for Rural Health. The Performance Leadership Awards recognize rural hospitals who rank among the top quartile as it pertains to quality, outcomes and patient perspectives. Chartis is a comprehensive healthcare advisory firm committed to transforming healthcare.
“This recognition from Chartis in both Patient Perspective and Quality areas is a testament to the dedication of our teams and the trust our rural communities place in us,” said Angela Pruett, Chief Nursing Officer at Highpoint Health – Riverview and Trousdale. “These awards highlight our commitment to serve our rural populations and remain steadfast in our mission of making communities healthier.”
The Performance Leadership Awards are based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX®, a comprehensive and objective framework for assessing how rural hospitals are performing. INDEX benchmarks are relied upon by rural hospitals, health systems with rural footprints, hospital associations, and state offices of rural health to measure performance across multiple areas impacting hospital operations and finance.
“The Performance Leadership Awards capture the commitment, diligence, and innovation with which America’s rural hospitals approach the delivery of care within their communities,” said Troy Brown, Network Consultant, The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “It’s a tremendous honor to be able to recognize the efforts of this year’s award winners and celebrate their achievement.”
